A New Transitional Deacon

A new Transitional Deacon will be assigned to Saint Columbkille Parish beginning September 19th. Matthew Donovan, S.J., is in his last year of formation to become a priest of the Society of Jesus. He will be ordained a Transitional Deacon on Sat, Sep 18 at Saint Ignatius Church in Newton.

Matt grew up in the Houston Texas area, attended Loyola University in Chicago, worked for a while and then entered the Society of Jesus. “Deacon” Matt will be Deacon for the first time at Saint Columbkille Church on Sun, Sep 19, at the 8:00am Mass. Hopefully his family members will be present. We welcome, Deacon Matt and look forward to his ministry among us as he moves during the year toward ordination as a Priest of Jesus Christ.
