Good News relative to the New Parish heating and air conditioning system

07-17-2022Pastor's Letter

As previously noted, we have embarked on a major capital project in the parish by replacing the 145 year old heating system with a new system and installing along with it an air conditioning system in both the upper and lower church. The new system will also have an air purifying element with it.

The two major units which we have been waiting for from Atlanta, Georgia have been delivered to the contractor. All 4 units will soon be delivered to our property behind the church. Once they arrive the final installation of the system will take place, expecting to be completed about two weeks from arrival on our property.

You should have received in the mail a notice of the fund raising effort we need to pay for the new systems. The total cost of the project will approach $450,000.00. Details of the pledge and payment plan are in the mailing that you received. If you did not receive a mailing, you may take one located in the racks at the church entrances or at the parish rectory office. This is the largest fundraising campaign that the parish has conducted in decades.

Everyone’s response is needed. You may also contribute online here. Please keep this project in your prayers.

Good News on the Vocation Front

Mr. Thomas Rashid, who for more than the past year has been lector and Eucharistic Minister at our 8:00am Mass on Sunday, has been accepted as a seminarian for the Archdiocese of Boston. He will be entering Pope St. John XXIII Seminary in Weston at the end of August. As you may know, Pope St. John XXIII Seminary is a seminary for men who are studying for the priesthood at a later than normal age. In other words, it is a second career seminary. Tom has been employed by the State of Massachusetts for a number of years prior to answering the call to the Priesthood. We are delighted in his response to that call. Let us all pray for his perseverance throughout his seminary formation.
