A Note from Fr. Nate

06-10-2022Pastor's LetterFr. Nathaniel Sanders

I just wanted to take the opportunity to introduce myself to the parish. My name is Fr. Nathaniel Sanders (or Fr. Nate) and I am the new priest assigned here to St. Columbkille. I was ordained by Cardinal O’Malley on May 21st of this year, so I am rather a new and inexperienced priest. But, it is a great joy for me to be here at the parish. I look forward to meeting you over the coming weeks and months.

I am originally from Texas, although I have lived in six different states. And, before entering seminary for the Archdiocese of Boston, I taught mathematics and science at a small boarding school in France.

While I am new to the parish, I am rather familiar with Brighton. I was a student both at Boston College and St. John’s Seminary. For the next several years, I will also be continuing in the doctoral program at the BC School of Theology and Ministry.

I am an avid (but entirely amateur) runner, golfer and cook. In God’s good will, I hope my ministry to the parish is far more successful than any of these endeavors.

Please do not hesitate to introduce yourselves to me. And possibly, even if I have met you before, reintroduce yourselves. I will do my best to remember names, but will inevitably fail continuously. My apologies.

I ask for your prayers as I begin my ministry here at St. Columbkille. And please know of my prayers for all of you.

Sincerely yours,
--Fr. Nate
